All in One Diaper

The diaper with all the bells and whistles!

In my research I read so many mixed reviews about AIOs. Complaints about dry times being very long or not being absorbent enough and needing to add boosters which defeated the purpose of it being AIO. And then there is the price, these diaps are NOT cheap. But then there was some major pluses that I couldn’t ignore.

I won’t be the only one changing D’s diaper! An AIO is a great choice for a reluctant husband, a babysitter, grandparent and especially for Daycare. I’ve read a lot of daycares won‘t mess with multistep diapers.

They are easy to throw into a diaper bag and not miss any of the parts needed for a change.

They act similar to a disposable, which is nice for when other people are changing babe BUT it does mean you need more diapers than if you were to use prefolds and covers.

BumGenius Freetime

I ended up finding a great deal on a set of 17 BumGenius Freetimes on Mercaci. They retail for about $21/diaper and I was able find them for $10/diaper and they had never been used only prepped.

I will admit I did not fully do my research on BumGenius before I made my purchase, and I don’t fully know if I will keep them all. From my research since the purchase I have found complaints regarding their elastics stretching out more quickly than other diapers, the inside flaps being difficult to wash with a toilet sprayer and the fact that the absorbent part is microfiber.

On the plus side, these are pretty much new so the microfiber has a full life in it and I only plan on having 1 child, so these would only need to last me until potty training.

I likes that the dual flaps allow for me to customize where the absorbency is needed. I can fold the front one to allow for more padding in front for little D.

One feature most parents have had good words on are that they have micro fleece so there is a “stay dry” feeling for little ones that are sentiive to feeling wet. And BumGenius has proprietary tabs that have stretch to them for an extra customizable fit.

They claim to fit 8-35 pounds. When I compare them against my other diapers I could see them fitting a bit bulky on the lower weight scale since you can’t remove inserts since they are sewn in.

With all that being said, these will likely be the diapers that go to daycare and grandparents house and less likely to be used at home in our regular rotation.
